Previewing the Cathedral Arts Champagne Gala.

Picture 8Grace Van Vorst’s 20th annual Cathedral Arts Festival will be toasted with a champagne gala on November 14th. A more intimate affair than years previous, the fundraiser kicks off 730pm one week from tomorrow. The art sale and auction will feature food from Skinner’s Loft, Bar Majestic and the Philly Pretzel Company. (Although if any other restaurants read this and want to participate, I’m sure they won’t turn you away.) Tickets are a reasonable $40 each, or $50 at the door.

Of course champagne and charity aren’t limited to one side of the river. Across the Hudson two days earlier on November 12th are both PJ Wine’s Grand Tasting at City Winery and Tour de Champagne at La Venue.

Ticket sales for PJ Wine’s Grand Tasting benefit Action Against Hunger. General admission is $99.99 but for $149.99 you can arrive 90 minutes earlier for special access to their Dom Perignon and Krug collections. At the same time, Tour de Champagne partners with Sherry-Lehmann to present more than 30 different brands like Gosset and Nicolas Feuillatte. Tickets are priced from $100 to $195 for the VIP hour featuring a Moet Hennessy Prestige Champagne Seminar. The evening’s silent auction also benefits Action Against Hunger.
